Charlotte Russe animal print sunglasses

4.0 out of 5 stars

Aug 22, 2013   Charlotte Russe sunglasses review by

On a recent unplanned trip to a local Charlotte Russe store, I found these animal print sunglasses deeply discounted and on sale for $2.99.

Charlotte Russe actually has them named “Tortoise Topped Plastic Shades” and they’re still available online at $2.99 in case they’re all sold out at your local store or there isn’t a store near you.

What attracted me to them was their lovely translucent sage green shade, which is silk-screened over the top half of the frames and the arms with a sort of cheetah print rather than your usual “tortoise shell” design. Note that the smoky grey lenses don’t really have a touch of lavender as they appear online.

They measure approximately 5.75 inches across and have medium sized frames about 2.5 x 2 inches. The hinges on these are still quite stiff and creaking a little, but better that than being too loose and the frames not lining up correctly with the arms. The four ornate studs that that hold them together are a dull silvertone and hexagonal in shape. I know!!!

I give them a four star rating because they’re a little too stiff and quite noisy when opening and closing them but hopefully that will sort itself out in time…
